Solar birdbath fountains are a great addition to your back or front yard garden. Not only are they a beautiful touch and attract all sorts of birds from around your area, they have long been known to be great aerators and oxygenators by producing continuous water flow that aerates the air. The solar panel wire extension that is included with most birdbaths allows the solar panel to be placed outside a window to generate the necessary energy, enabling you to forego the need of plugging the actual fountain into a wall.
Some of the features that come with owning solar birdbath fountains are the lighting and heating elements. At night, the solar light installed in them gives off a unique ambient glow that adds to the garden. The solar energy collected can also be used as a heater for the water, which helps to keep it from freezing during winter months and ensures the continual flow of the fountain. The constant moving water also means it is less likely for mosquitoes and other bug pests to be drawn to the fountain so birds will continue to visit your birdbath.
Certain solar birdbath fountains have panels integrated directly into the birdbaths, while others have panels that are placed at a short distance away. With the latter, you can place the fountain in the shade and the panels where there is plenty of sun. Some examples of these types of birdbaths include the Veronica Copper, Chatsworth Two-Tier, and Japanese Tea Garden solar birdbaths.
