1) What is one of the most famous fountains in the world?
The Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas houses one of the more intricate aquatically and musically orchestrated fountains in the world. Two rings of nozzles called HyperShooters and Extremeshooters create large plums of water that can go up to 500 feet into the air and everywhere in between. The nozzles are placed in two rings and can move in 120 degrees side to side and 90 degrees front to back, independently of any of the other nozzles. The shooters are aligned so that massive curtains of water can be summoned up relatively quickly and at different pressures. A team of engineers and a crew of certified divers maintain the pool – a 1000-foot long manmade pond of over 9 acres of water. Four thousand lights accompany the show and can glimmer, flash, and show colors to compliment the mood of the show. To cap it all off, fog makers surround the lake and create a mysterious atmosphere, a blank slate for the nozzles to work in. Choreography is extremely difficult as all the various elements must be timed to music and the engineering is an ongoing process. They perform on the half hour and every 15 minutes in the evenings.
2) What is the normal price range for solar fountain pumps?
The short answer is that is depends on the fixtures that you want to come with it. A similar low-watt solar powered pump can go for anything as low as $20. These pumps will have a limited water output and you can expect minimal water movement. A common addition is a timer. These allow you to choose when the fountain is on – removing water movement during the evening and night hours when there might not be anyone to enjoy the fixture. For timers you can expect to pay minimally $50. Other fountains might include some high-efficiency lights and multiple pumps, these can inflate the price beyond the cheap sub $100 dollar range all the up to customizable permanent water pieces that can really reorient a backyard into a peaceful oasis or business entryway into a glimmer of tranquility in the breakneck speed of modern business. The key indicators of price are the number of watts the panel puts out, the wattage of that the pump requires, and the number of amenities from a touch screen control panel to a simple dial to turn it the fountain on and off.
3) What are the first advantages of a solar pump?
The first and best advantage is that they are self-sufficient. If they run out of power, they shut off. This is a nice protocol because it means you don’t have to remember to shut it off every evening. If it is indoors and you want it run continuously, there are often variants that include a plug so that the pump can draw from your house if need be. The pump will circulate water and numerous studies have found running water to be a great calming addition to the busy lifestyle prevalent in the modern world. In certain areas, a water pump can be a necessity to prevent water from stagnating and growing unwanted bacteria, fungi, or bugs. Although it isn’t necessary everywhere, in most places where stagnant water lies, bugs and odd growth follows. To avoid a bog-like situation a simple solar pump can rectify the problem.
